Thorncrow's confrontation

Gothpaw padded lightly in through the grass that grew near the leader's den.She purred to signal her arrival and the leader looked up from the twigs that she was counting. Gothpaw knew this method, Larkstar was counting the warriors that had fallen because of the latest blizzard.The beautiful leader had a pelt that was the color of Micah stone and rippled like lark feathers. Her amber eyes could stare you threw and look down on even the strongest warriors.Gothpaw absolutely loved that Larkstar would look at her in a motherly way that made her feel like she was actually wanted. She had, after all, taken care of her after her mother had passed.Larkstar was still Larkheart then but Gothpaw was the reason that she had become leader. Some even dare to say that Larkstar was Gothpaw's real mother because they had the same silver black pelt but Gothpaw had her one green eyes. Larkstar had been the most devastated when Thorncrow disappeared. "What can I help you with Gothpaw?" she asked in a very unprofessional tone. Gothpaw loved it. "Well remember when my father had disappeared when I was just a tiny kit? He would like to know if he could-" "Halt there darling!"Larkstar yelped like a mother calling to her kit "Please, you said that he would like to come back!?" Gothpaw nodded. "Will you wait here please?" she asked. Gothpaw stepped out and swatted her father's ankle. He turned and she gestured him in to the leader's den. They stepped in and Larkstar gasped. "Thorncrow! Your back!' she said happily. Gothpaw stepped back and Thorncrow stepped forward and bowed. "If I may so dare may I please rejoin the clan? I was unwillingly taken by twolegs and when they finally left the door open and stopped watching me then I found my way back. That may sound unbelievable and ridicules but it is true and I apologize for taking so long." he said calmly coming out of his bow. "Well," Larkstar cleared her throat," You may rejoin our ranks but you must agree that I if I do not fully trust you that that will come in time." she speeched. Thorncrow's eyes lit up and he bounded from the den like kits at first spring. Larkstar brushed her tail across the floor and swept the twigs away. Larkstar ran from her den and jumped to the lowest branch of the star tree. "Come to this meeting all that can catch their own prey!"she called.Every cat gathered under the tree and Larkstar waved up Thorncrow. He jumped up and a wave of whispering crossed the crowd. "Thorncrow has been allowed to join our ranks yet again but I would like now smites and I would like it if you would all try to make him welcome again." the meeting broke and the sun set as the cats filed to their dens again.
